The Venetian REDENTORE (Festival of the Redeemer) is one of the lagoon city’s favorite and most anticipated festivals. Celebrated yearly on Saturday evening before the third Sunday of July, it’s beloved by locals and travelers alike, who flock by the thousands to gather, share an outdoor meal, and await the fireworks. The most anticipated moment of the celebration is the waterborne fireworks display, a magnificent scene that soars over the lagoon and illuminates the entire San Marco Basin. The play of light and color reflecting on the water creates a unique spectacle, and an atmosphere that makes the city its most magical.
